Happy New Year to all of our members, followers, and friends!  May all your plants grow strong, and your loved ones (the photosynthetic and not) be happy and healthy.

2016 promises to be a new and exciting chapter for the UMCPS.  We’ll be changing our meeting formats to include programmed meetings held at a public venue, which we will be announcing soon.  We will also be adding informal, social meet-ups at venues around the Cities.  Plus, programmed meeting summaries will now be posted right here, on our blog, for everyone who was unable to make it to the meeting.  These summaries will include the summaries of the business meeting, including the treasurer’s report, and a summary of the of the program content, if not the slides used.  There will be more photographs of the meetings here as well.  We will also be working to create an option for online meeting attendance for those in our service area who don’t like in the Cities.Lastly, we will be modifying our bylaws and creating a charter to attempt to officially become a 501(c)(3).  It’s going to be a big, exciting year!

The year will kick off with an organizational meeting occurring on Sunday, January 17th at a member’s home.  The organizational committee members should expect an e-mail soon with the details of that meeting.  Organizational committee members, please plant to attend as your input will be critical.

For those not on the organizational committee, the summary of that meeting will be posted here, and the final details on the programmed meetings as well as the first meet-up will be included.  So, keep an eye out for that update.  It will have our schedule for the remainder of 2016.  We hope to see you all in the coming year, and meet some new folks as well!
