It is finally here, our first programmed meeting of the year! This Sunday, 13 March at 3pm, we will meet at the Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District (2665 Noel Drive Little Canada, MN 55117). Want some details? Here you go:
Mexican Pinguicula (butterwort) leaf pullings: learn how to propagate this interesting and easily cultivated group of carnivorous pants simply by pulling a leaf off (workshop format – if you have some, bring your Mexican Pinguicula, for those who don’t material will be provided)
We look forward to seeing all of you there! Any questions, as always, please contact our yahoo.com e-mail address, username: umcps
I’d love to come. I’ve never been to one of your meetings. Would it be appropriate to bring my 5 yr old with me? She likes her venus flytrap and I think she’d like to learn more about carnivorous plants.
Hi Michelle,
It would be completely appropriate to bring a 5 year old who likes Venus flytraps. We might not have any there this Sunday, because the workshop will be about Mexican butterworts, but she can ask all the questions she wants to some folks who have grown (and killed in their earlier days) their share of Venus flytraps. Almost all of our members began their interest in carnivorous plants when they were kids too, so we all remember the wonder they can bring when you are a kid - or if our cases, still can when you are a grown-up too. :-)
Hope to see you Sunday,
UMCPS
